I just followed these directions and I'm up and running. I know you are trying to find a way WITHOUT ndiswrapper, but your readers also seem to be having trouble using it via ndiswrapper as well. Your blog is one of the top on Google search for "F5D8053 Ubuntu"</description>

(Possibly has  something to do with me running 64-bit Ubuntu, but I'm not overly bothered, I'd much rather get the native driver working...)</description>
